The Peugeot 205 Group B rally car was introduced for 1984. An incredibly successful rally car, the 205 Group B won the 1985 and 1986 constructor and drivers World Rally Group B Championship. Two evolutions were built, Evolution 1, which was the first twenty examples produced, and then the Evolution 2, which was built until the end of Group B.

This 205 T16, the star of the Silverstone Auctions first online sale on Saturday May 23, was built by Peugeot Sport UK under the guidance of the legendary Des O'Dell. It was commissioned by wealthy American Real Estate Developer and rally driver Jon Woodner, who campaigned it with great success in the US between late 1984 and 1988.
