This car used Alfa's 2.5L V6 nestled in the rear hatch, and Lock set to work using the Alfa V6 and the Alfasud Sprint as the basis, along with a ZF five-speed transaxle to turn the rear rubber. Underneath, Lock reengineered the Sprint, equipping it with a new, strong, yet lightweight rear subframe.

The still-born Alfa Romeo Group B concept, a victim of the rally world's move away from Group B regs provided the inspiration. The concept featured a mid-mounted 2.5 litre V6 and a 5 speed transaxle. Lock and Halstead wanted to bring that concept to life in Australia using the Alfasud Sprint as a donor car.
